A Spring series of floral classes for anyone looking to learn a new skill in a fun and informative setting.

Wednesdays: 1pm to 4pm (Davidson)

No prior experience is required
Each class is approx. 3hrs
Classes will be run by Lizzie Watt of Wild & Green Floral Designs. Lizzie is a British Floral Designer,
trained at the British Academy of Floral Art and currently studying to become a British Master Florist – a rare breed!
Maximum of 8 students per class - ensuring a fun and informative environment with plenty
of tutor: student interaction
Each class costs $80 with all required flowers and sundries included.

1. The Art of Floral Design - from the beginning!
During this class you’ll be introduced to the basics of floristry and a brief introduction to the Principles and Elements of Design. We’ll look at how to condition and care for your flowers, whilst creating a beautiful hand-tied spiralled gift bouquet. We’ll also be making a simple boutonniere.

2. Romantic Table Arrangement and Floral Jewellery
We’ll be creating a stunning romantic table arrangement for the home (well it is the month of romance!) We’ll be looking at different styles of arrangement - Hogarth curves, symmetrical, parallel and more! We’ll end the class making a fun floral cocktail ring or jewelry of your choice: a ring, necklace or earrings.

3. An Introduction to Wiring - for weddings, proms and more!
In this class you’ll learn the basics and principles of wiring flowers (most often used in wedding work). This is a really useful technique for all kinds of floral projects. Once you’ve mastered the art of flower wiring we’ll create a beautiful flower crown and a prom corsage for you to take home.

4. Sorry - SOLD OUT! Spring Flower Garland - mantle, wedding arch or Easter table centre!
Garlands are not just for Christmas! Using a selection of spring flowers and foliage you’ll create your own garland or ‘lei’ - using wiring and binding techniques. This garland can be used to adorn a fireplace, hang down a door, as a wedding arch or lying flat as a table runner – perfect for Easter!

5. Sorry - SOLD OUT! Spring Willow Door Wreath
For this class we’ll be having a go at weaving our own willow base to create a wreath ring. We’ll then use traditional mossing techniques combined with a selection of spring flowers to create a simply stunning design for your door! If time permits we’ll also have a go at an alternative style of wreath making.

6. SOLD OUT ! Easter Arrangement - in a vessel of your choice
Every container brings about it’s own unique floral design. Bring along your own vessel, (a bowl, compote, low vase, basket or something quirky) and we’ll explore the best way to use it based on the Principles and Elements of Floral Design. We’ll also explore using alternative sustainable mechanics to floral foam - sand, moss, clay, wire etc.
